These include: -Textures changed around, and others added (Although, no new textures) -CT truck taken away, replaced with a jeep including a mounted machine gun -Jeep not driveable -Vent now isn't a 'straight line' -Squeaky door removed, and replaced with a guards booth style entrance -Various barrels and crates added around the map -New access to previously unused building -Trees added -More ladders added -Fenced off area (You'll see!) -New vent access added -Added access to otherside of 'the ramp' -Extended uppper ramp by access to the main vent (Inside the Warehouse) -Slight cover for snipers on building by the jeep -New labelled entrances (never before seen!) -Extended railings inside the warehouse -Now host up to 14 players per team -CT's dont have access to cameras -New walkway inside warehouse -New sniping/camping areas for both teams -New plank joining the crate and upper walkway inside -A detailed 'crate delivery' inside the warehouse -Detailed computers, including cables (!) -Various other modifications ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Inspirations: The orginal assault was my favourite of the original CS maps, and since ive just got into mapping, i thought my first one would be a re-make of it, with additions of my own. Since ive made two other maps, and they didnt work for some reason, i decided to edit an old favourite for those reasons. Some ideas have come from various other excellent assault maps, i.e. cs_wildwest_assault, cs_assault2k, cs_1337_assault and cs_assault_smd. Although cs_assault_smd is a complete turn-around of the classic, it has excellent ideas which I took on. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- WAD files used: cs_assault.wad cstrike.wad halflife.wad ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Compile Notes: Used Zoners Compile tools, as the original ones are shit! About 40mins on my friends top o the range computer (P4 with 1Gb of RAM). My P2 with 196mb RAM:- Couldnt finish due to lack of memory! lol ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Prefabs Used: The crane inside the warehouse The CT's Jeep ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to: Everyone on the jolt.co.uk forums who helped me in the construction of the mounted machine gun. Everyone on the counterstrike forums, who helped me work out the short surfacing error. 'PowerMx', who gave me ideas and additions for the CT's. 'ChunkeyMonkey' who gave me ideas for the Terrorists Anyone else who i forgot, negleted or just dont care about, thanks :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Plans for the future: Extending the map, to include another entrance to the warehouse, or extend to include a second warehouse (like cs_assaultxp). Open up more of the buildings, and depending on any feedback, or the gamplay, changes on those. Like if the mounted gun upsets gameplay too much, then ill remove it.
